Here we have a Very Fine Gibson SG Les Paul made in 1962. This guitar has everything you could ever dream of in a SG Les Paul! Features the rare 1 year only ebony block vibrola tailpiece, Original PAF Pickups; the pickups show the original solder joints on the covers and original solder attaching the leads to the pots, Never Tampered With! The deep cherry red finish is original. All the parts and hardware are original, including the original pebble grain hard case, tuners, bridge, tailpiece , PAF pickups pots and wire, truss rod cover. The bridge pickup reads out at 8.5k; the neck pickup reads 8.0k. There is a repair at the edge of the heel and a chip missing at the edge of the headstock; otherwise, 100% and in excellent condition. This Vintage Les Paul is a 1953 that was converted to a 1958 Les Paul Standard in ebony. The conversion was done professionally by the RS Guitarworks Company in 2003. It features vintage long magnet PAF pickups with DMC modern covers, and vintage bumble bee capacitors. The wiring is vintage, but the pots are modern CTS. All the hardware and plastic parts are modern reproductions, with the exception of the truss rod cover which is vintage. The neck is intact with no breaks or repairs, and is straight and responsive. There is a repair in the maple top where the pickup selector switch is located; a rectangular piece of maple has been installed. This repair was done before the conversion. It is an Exceptional Sounding / Playing guitar with an incredible set of PAF pickups and very cool vintage vibe. Don't let this piece of rock-n-roll history get away.
